Ultimate Nature came about
because of the encouragement of David Deratzian's wife, Allison.
David is a wildlife and scenic photographer, who worked with medium, large and
35mm film formats, before settling on 35mm and digital. At present, David
shoots using the Canon EOS system exclusively, with the exception of underwater
film work. Most recently, David has embraced digital as his most
expressive medium.

Allison Deratzian is a paleontologist and professor in the
Department of Geology at Temple University,
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Allison grew up in New
York. She also has a background in theatre and art. After spending a
number of trips pointing out obscure features in rocks, she
decided that it was fime to take some photos of her own. |
David and Allison have traveled
extensively, capturing the world in pictures. Both active divers, David is
also a PADI Scuba and Underwater Photography Instructor.
